Get IDEA, well if you are not happy with IDEA get Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, DoCoMo, Reliance, Uninor or Vodafone....

Well from last 18 months I am hearing this....(The Mobile Number Portability) will come in the picture and if you are not happy with your service provider, you can change to another one without changing your number.
Wow...isn’t it?
Well looks like it’s going to happen soon.... another 55 days or so... and you can change your mobile service provider by paying Rs. 19/- only.....

It got started in Haryana and from 20th January 2011 it will be implemented all over India 
The process of changing your Service Provider is simple or confusing (you decide)

Step1. Send a SMS to 1900 in following format: PORT - eg. PORT 9000000007.
You will get an SMS reply that contains a unique porting code.
Note: 9000000007 = your mobile number.

Step2. Then you need to send a request to your favourite service provider, with the Unique Porting Code.
Remember this Unique Porting Code has a expiry date, so get it done within time the frame.

Step3. You get a confirmation SMS from your new service provider informing you about the date and time when porting will happen.
Now chill :-) and wait for the Porting to happen, which generally will take 2-3 working days. In case you a loyal guy and thinks what you are doing is a SIN and wanted to go back to your old service provider, then you have 24 hours to cancel your Porting request.

Step4. You will get another SMS from your new service provider informing you that now you are in My Network :-) (there will be a blackout period of 2 hours)

One important thing, if your new service provider sucks... you have to bear them for 90 days before you can switch again :P
Go Get IDEA or if you have an IDEA go for ....................................................
